The Minister of Housing stresses the importance of the ministry’s role in following up on the implementation of the reconciliation law

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, held a meeting to follow up on the progress of work in the housing and utilities sector, in the presence of Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister, Engineer Nafisa Hashem, Advisor to the Ministry - Supervisor of the Housing and Utilities Sector, and Engineer Mustafa Al-Najjar, First Undersecretary - Head of the Ministry. Housing and Utilities Sector, Engineer Amr Khattab, Director General of the Minister’s Technical Office, and housing sector officials.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of the role of the housing sector in following up on the implementation of the reconciliation law in some building violations and codifying their status, the construction law, and studying and amending some provisions of laws and legislation related to construction and housing in Egypt, as well as following up and evaluating the performance of maintenance companies for the units of the presidential initiative “Housing for All.” Egyptians” and “Dar Misr” project units, directing the need to expand the content and spatial scope of the monthly indicative bulletin issued by the housing sector for local market prices for building materials.

Engineer Nafisa Hashem reviewed the administrative structure of the housing and facilities sector, its development plans, the role of the sector in the field of laws and legislation related to housing, construction and urban development, the legislation currently being studied, and the preparation and issuance of an annual book on “Housing in Egypt”, to follow up on the implemented housing projects and monitor their data, and the efforts Conducted in the field of housing studies in cooperation with international, regional and local bodies, and in the field of preserving real estate wealth.

The supervisor of the housing and facilities sector pointed to the sector’s achievements during 10 years during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, including the preparation and issuance of a study of maintenance methods in closed residential complexes, a study of the legislation and laws regulating the housing and construction sector in Arab countries, and a study on “social housing” experiences in countries. Arabic (being prepared), in implementation of the decisions of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction, in addition to studying and amending some provisions of laws and legislation related to construction and housing, and other tasks of the sector.

Engineer Mustafa Al-Najjar explained that, within the framework of supporting the building materials industry, localizing the local industry, increasing reliance on local products, and encouraging the localization of modern technology, the Working Money Fund grants loans to companies and factories that work in the field of production, industry, and research of building materials to contribute to raising their efficiency and developing them to work to increase and prosper. Manufacture of building materials in accordance with the controls regulating the work of the Fund.
