Abdel-Khalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs, said that the planning and construction controls and requirements for the new Egyptian cities apply to all licenses for residential buildings only in cities and local administration units in the Republic since July 2021, explaining that the new requirements do not apply to projects with their various activities in villages, as well as Non-residential buildings, whether under the jurisdiction of government or private agencies or individuals.

Projects that do not apply to the conditions

He added, in exclusive statements, that the requirements also do not apply to national projects implemented in cities, whether housing for all Egyptians, Dar Misr, or the residence of Egypt, which are determined by a decision of the Council of Ministers, in addition to the lands subject to the Urban Communities Authority, as well as lands under the jurisdiction of some of the concerned authorities in the state.

He pointed out that the controls and requirements also do not apply to approved divisions for which planning and construction requirements are specified, as well as areas and places of distinctive value that are specified by the National Organization for Urban Harmony and approved by the Supreme Council for Urban Planning.
