Prime Minister: Creating one million and 500 thousand million housing units to solve the housing problem for 7 million citizens

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, handed over housing units, as part of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” in the city of Hadayek Al-Asimah. The Prime Minister said that, by establishing one million and 500 thousand housing units from 2014 until now, the housing problem for 6 to 7 million Egyptian citizens has been solved.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, said that the housing gap and population increase require 350,000 to 400,000 housing units, and that there are 1,500,000 housing units that have been completed since 2014 until now.

He continued during the delivery of housing units, as part of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” in the city of Hadayek Al-Asimah, that he aims to implement 300,000 housing units in the coming period, in light of an ambitious plan to bridge the gap between supply and demand for housing units.

Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing Fund, said that 516,000 housing units have been completed in the new cities, and 27,000 housing units are being offered.

She explained that the new cities will change the quality of life and solve the housing crisis, explaining that 15,000 housing units will be built in a number of governorates, noting that medium housing units amounting to 23,000 housing units have been implemented in the new cities.
